Welcome
Melmerby village lies on the A686 in Cumbria between Penrith & Alston, in the delightful Eden Valley, within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Melmerby Village Hall is easily accessed, being less than one minute from the main road and just nine miles from Penrith and the M6 at Junction 40.
Our village hall is a modern building constructed in 2003. It is fully licensed and is available for hire for all occasions. It has a large main hall, small meeting room, spacious catering kitchen, bar facilities, toilets and shower room. And there is free wi-fi throughout the building!
Please read on to see all that we have to offer and hopefully we'll see you soon at your event or one of ours!

COVID UPDATE - DECEMBER 2021Melmerby Village Hall has been open and active throughout the summer and autumn months. As mandatory restrictions eased, the Village Hall Committee stressed the importance of checking in via the NHS Covid-19 App QR code, the use of hand sanitiser, good ventilation and use of a face covering when moving about the building as a way of helping maintain Covid security.
The introduction of “Plan B” by the government on 8th December has brought some restrictions into law and this will have some affect on users of the village hall. Covid guidance updated on 9th December informs us that:
When eating or drinking. Taking part in physical activity
Melmerby Village Hall Committee will remind all users of the effect of the new government restrictions on their use of the hall and urge all users to follow, in addition, the recommendations we set out earlier. The Christmas Ceilidh scheduled for 28th December has sadly been cancelled. The committee believe it would be irresponsible in the present climate to hold this event due to the nature of the activity and the transmissibility of the new variant.
